About PATTTTERNS

A solo project by Pablo Armen

PATTTTERNS started in 2021, right after the pandemic. Like many designers working remotely, I found myself collecting hundreds of screenshots and competitor benchmarks for every project I worked on β€” flows, onboarding screens, empty states, modals, you name it. The problem was they lived scattered across folders, Notion pages, and my camera roll.

So I started building something for myself: a personal reference library where every pattern was tagged, categorized, and actually findable. What began as a messy Notion database slowly turned into a structured collection. Screen captures organized with Notion, GIFs sourced via Giphy, videos pulled from YouTube, and more recently Gemini to process and describe images at scale β€” generating the metadata, tags, and descriptions that power the search and browsing experience you see today.

That Notion database is the source of truth behind PATTTTERNS. Every pattern you see was curated manually β€” not scraped, not generated. Each one passed through the same question: "Would I actually use this as a reference when designing?"

One founder, one mission

PATTTTERNS is entirely bootstrapped and built by me β€” no team, no VC, no roadmap handed down from a product manager. That independence is what keeps the curation honest. But it also means the project depends on people finding it useful enough to support it.

My goal is to turn PATTTTERNS into a genuinely indispensable tool for designers and makers β€” a place you open before starting a new feature, when you're stuck on a flow, or just looking for inspiration grounded in real products. To do that, I need to keep the library growing, improve search and filtering, add richer context around each pattern, and eventually build collaborative features.

If PATTTTERNS has saved you time or sparked an idea, consider supporting it. Even a small contribution helps keep the lights on and justifies the hours that go into curating and building it.
